An international bank is seeking an experienced Senior IMS DBA to support mission-critical mainframe environments. This is a fully remote role from South Africa, with potential relocation to eastern Australia based on business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Administer IMS DB and IMS DC systems: design, implementation, optimisation.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimisation.
• Manage IMS utilities (reorg, backup/recovery, change control).
• Handle ACB generation, merging, and lifecycle maintenance.
• Use BMC IMS tools for tuning, monitoring, and recovery.
• Configure Control-M for batch scheduling.
• Provide remote on-call support aligned to Australian Eastern Time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain documentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years IMS DBA experience in enterprise environments.
• Expert knowledge of IMS DB/DC, IMS utilities, z/OS, JCL, RACF.
• Strong experience with BMC IMS tools and Control-M.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Financial/regulated sector experience advantageous.

Contract Details

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor’s in IT/Computer Science (Preferred).
• IMS/mainframe/BMC certifications (Advantageous).
