About the role

We are rolling out on-the-ground operations in Bothaville and are looking for a local Team Lead to run the day-to-day activity on site. You will keep operations moving, keep the local team staffed and performing, sort out problems as they come up, and be the go-to person who knows when to act and when to escalate. This role carries real decision-making authority on the ground.

What you will do

  • Run daily operations: plan, staff and oversee daily activity in Bothaville; spot problems early and deal with them; keep accurate daily records of activity, incidents and results.
  • Lead the team: brief and supervise local staff (marketing personnel and Top-Up Agents); roster and deploy people where they are needed; support and guide the team in the field.
  • Resolve conflict: handle disputes between staff, stakeholders or the community fairly, calmly and quickly, and calm tense situations before they grow.
  • Make decisions: take initiative and make sound operational calls on the spot, without waiting for instructions from head office.
  • Escalate and report: recognise when an issue needs management attention, escalate it promptly, and give clear, factual progress reports.

  • A qualification or background in operations, business administration, logistics or community / stakeholder management.
  • Existing relationships within the local taxi industry and community structures.
